Shivah Minyan Support
Paying respects at a house of mourning— comforting the bereaved with kind words and joining with them in words of prayer—is a mitzvah we take seriously at Monroe Temple. The mitzvah of comforting mourners, known as nichum avelim, is an “Obligation Without Measure”, whose reward is also beyond measure. There is a joy to helping our fellow congregants that is impossible to describe, but it is real and leaves one with a wonderful inner sense of connection and satisfaction.
