BETY

Monroe Temple Beth-El's Youth Group, otherwise known as BETY is a fun place to hang out with other Jewish teens. Some of our more recent activities have included a Halloween Havdalah party, apple picking and pie baking for Rosh Hashanah, an annual Shul-In at the Temple, outings to the movies, the Castle, and restaurants, and a chocolate Seder. We provide a group experience which supports and encourages continued growth and interest in Reform Judaism, as well as a positive social outlet. Our hope is to instill an interest in social action and social justice, develop spirituality, and encourage self-actualization.

BETY is part of the North American Federation of Temple Youth-Garden Empire Region (NFTY-GER), the Union for Reform Judaism’s youth program. As a member of BETY, participants can participate in NFTY-GER events throughout the year!

BETY is a great way to have fun while engaging with other Jewish teens in our Temple and across the Northeast.

BETY is run by the teens for the teens by their own board who plans events and organizes the group. It is a great way to foster leadership and organizational skills for your teen!

Participants do not need to be members of the Temple or attend Torah School or Academy to join.

Both groups are supported by our Youth Advisor, Jeremy Joseph, who can be contacted at jeremyhjoseph@gmail.com for any  questions or concerns.

Hope to see you at our meetings!
